Welcome Aboard!

Each year we offer the public a taste of the SALTS tall ship experience aboard the Pacific Swift and Pacific Grace. Day sail trainees will be welcomed aboard in Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour and set sail under the instruction of our professional crew for several hours of adventure in the Salish Sea.

DS16-PS3 Everyone who sails with SALTS is considered a "trainee" and will take an active part in sailing the ship. Although no previous experience is necessary, physical agility and mental alertness are essential for safe participation. Please review our physical and mental health policy prior to registering.

SALTS day sails are open to the public and membership is not required. People of all ages may participate; however, there is a limit to the number of children under 12 years of age permitted aboard sail training vessels. Each child must be accompanied by a responsible adult and wear a personal flotation device while aboard.

Online registration began on Tuesday, April 4th, at 12:00 noon.
The first step of the registration process is to submit the online Day Sail Trip Request form to let us know which day sail(s) you are interested in and how many "berths" you would like to reserve.
Sailings will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis according to the date and time the registration was received. If your first choice trip is full,  you will have the option of accepting the next available trip indicated on your trip request and remaining on the wait list for your preferred trip.

Payment will not be required until you receive email notification of your assigned sailing along with a secure online payment link and instructions for completing your registration by submitting your, waiver(s) and day sail trainee profile details. If you are not able to pay online by credit card, please call our office to arrange payment.

Day sail trainees will want to bring a camera, good footwear, and several layers of warm clothing. It is usually much cooler on the water than at the dock. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted aboard. Cell phones and other electronic devices should be turned off and put away for the duration of the sailing.  Boarding details and more information will be provided prior to the sailing.

If you must cancel, please provide as much notice as possible and no less than 72 hours notice. It would be a shame for your berth to go empty because there is not time to fill it. Please note that Day Sail fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
