Group Registration and What Comes NextThe SALTS sailing schedule fills up very quickly with many groups returning year after year. To find out the latest availability for a group trip with SALTS, contact Sherilyn Thomson, SALTS Booking Manager, at 1-888-383-6811. We keep a list of groups interested in sailing with SALTS and send out information twice a year about trip openings. Give us a call if you would like your group to be added to the wait list.
When you decide to reserve a trip, SALTS will send your group a trip agreement and contract that will need to be signed and returned with a trip deposit. A boarding package with trip details to help with planning is then forwarded to the group leader. For all groups (except those of the Calgary Board of Education), two months prior to the trip each student and leader will complete the online Group Trainee Profile Registration Form.
Group Trip LogisticsAll SALTS group trips embark and disembark in the beautiful Inner Harbour of Victoria, BC in view of the Empress Hotel and the Provincial Legislature building. Trips generally embark at 1030 hours on the first day of the trip and generally disembark at 1530 hours on the last day of the trip. Victoria's Inner Harbour is a 30-minute drive from Victoria International Airport and a 40-minute drive from the BC Ferry terminal at Swartz Bay (with routes to and from Victoria and Vancouver). Several charter bus companies are available for hire to shuttle groups between the airport/ferry terminal and Victoria's Inner Harbour. If your group requires accommodation before or after the trip, there are many affordable hotel and hostel options in Victoria, some within walking distance of where the ships are moored.
